Rep. DelBene Speaks at Washington State Radiological Society Chapter Meeting

October 29, 2025

Congresswoman Suzan DelBene spoke at the Washington State Radiological Society Chapter meeting Oct. 25. The visit was arranged by RADPAC, the nonpartisan political action committee of the ACRA®. The Congresswoman spent time discussing the latest on the government shutdown as well as what issues the House Ways & Means Committee will be focused on between now and the end of the year. The Congresswoman also gave an update on the political climate and forecast of the mid-term elections next year.

Rep. DelBene represents Washington state’s first congressional district. She serves as chair of the House Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The Congresswoman also serves on the House Ways & Means Committee, the oldest committee of the United States Congress, and the chief tax-writing committee in the House of Representatives. The committee derives a large share of its jurisdiction from Article I, Section VII of the U.S. Constitution, which declares, “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives.” Revenue-related aspects of the Social Security system, Medicare, and social services programs, including foster care and adoption program, fall within the Ways and Means Committee’s purview.
